Imagine sandy beaches and sandcastles for years to come… It’s the stuff dreams are made of, but it also means saying goodbye to snow and embracing the reality of “just the two of us” becoming a rarity. With this in mind, we knew it was high time for some quality alone time. While the kids caught up with their grandparents, we cooled down in Oslo. In this vlog, I tell you about our encounter with a persistent police officer, determined to inspect Kay’s every document from his driver’s license to insurance and car rental papers. While I’ve spared you the full saga in the video, we learned an important lesson! This incident served as a stark reminder: in foreign lands, self-content can quickly turn into complication. It’s a lesson learned the hard way, but an important one nonetheless. Thankfully, our misadventure didn’t ruin our plans, thanks to Bart from Villa Fregn, who graciously arranged for a postponed dog sleigh ride, ensuring our itinerary remained intact.
Our trip to Oslo in combination with the Boat show in Dusseldorf consumed half of January. While Kay busied himself with business matters, immersing himself in the yachting industry, I had the privilege of witnessing him in his element. I compare it to the trip to Disneyland we made last year. Where I ran around like a little girl, with the kids, and he nudged along behind it. With a smile and good mood because he really enjoyed seeing us so happy. This time I saw him exploring and thriving, and I ran along with him, just being happy when he is happy.
Our lives are a whirlwind of adventure and opportunity, and we’re grateful for every moment. In the next episode, we will show you the last week and I warn you, it’s going to be a hectic one!
